Stefan Allesch-Taylor CBE
Stefan is a London-based financier, serial entrepreneur, charity Chairman, philanthropist and change strategist.
As a Chairman, CEO and Senior Director in business, he specialises in start-ups, public companies, turn-arounds and strategy change to maximize value for shareholders and stakeholders. After first serving as Chairman of a UK public company aged 27, Stefan currently oversees, through his Private Office, companies operating in more than 15 countries in ten different sectors.
He has co-founded and/or serves on the Boards of companies in the hospitality, industrial, agriculture, retail, technology, sports, banking and financial services sectors. His business interests span the UK and Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Australia. Stefan is authorised and regulated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority as a corporate advisor, as well as being approved as a ‘Controller’ of an Asset Manager in Denmark and approved by the German Bundesbank as a ‘Controller’ of a German commercial bank. He chairs the Audit Committees of several companies of which he is a board member.
Stefan is a former Board Member of The Prince’s Youth Business Trust for London South and he has sponsored, co-founded and leads charities in the UK and Africa that have directly improved the lives of 1.5 million people. He established the Afri-CAN Charity in South Africa, a charity that creates community programs and social ventures to alleviate poverty for children and adults in the townships of South Africa and Malawi. Stefan also Chairs the award-winning British-based charity Pump Aid that provides 10% of the safe, clean water national rural supplies in both Zimbabwe and Malawi combined, Stefan co-founded and is Deputy Chairman of the Central London Rough Sleepers Committee, a non-profit organisation providing regular meals and support to rough sleepers and the homeless in central London. He is also the Chairman of Team Up, a UK based charity providing tuition to underprivileged children in attaining their maths and English GSCE’s.
Stefan was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) by Her Majesty The Queen in the 2014 New Years Honours List for services to charity and philanthropy in the UK and Africa.
Chief Executive Officer CO-FOUNDER
Nokwethu has a background in marketing and event management. She worked as a Trade Marketer for Motivation Africa and The Rewards Co, building relationships between suppliers and retailers with a focus on the independent and informal trade. This involved conceptualizing and implementing incentive programs, promotional campaigns as well as publishing a trade magazine Trader Value Club.
She has also served as a board member and head of the fund raising committee for a women’s shelter Sisters Inc, which provides various services and support for abused women and their children.
Nokwethu has consulted to the Centre for the Book and rolled out a program that produced and distributed children’s books written in vernacular languages to rural parts of South Africa.
She is a co-founder and CEO at Lakheni.
She holds a Post Graduate Business Administration Diploma and a MBA both from UCT Graduate School of Business.
Chief Operations Officer CO-FOUNDER
Lauren is qualified as a Professional Structural Engineer who completed her undergraduate degree with a bursary from the multinational consulting engineering firm, Hatch Africa.
She subsequently joined Hatch in 2008 and spent six years with them in various roles including technical structural engineer, construction resident engineer, NEC project manager and lead technical engineer. Her projects included engineering pre-feasibility studies, feasibility studies and implementation projects for major mining and infrastructural developments in Madagascar and South Africa.
Lauren holds an MBA degree from UCT Graduate School of Business.
She is co-founder and COO at Lakheni.
